Medical tests in the IVF Clinic

The medical process will start with a thorough medical examination before initiating fertility treatment. Upon your arrival at the IVF clinic, additional medical tests may be conducted, if deemed necessary, to ensure comprehensive care and personalized attention.

Collection of Semen samples

To ensure the highest quality of sperm, it is crucial for patients to adhere to the clinic's guidelines for semen collection. Upon your arrival at the IVF clinic, we will collect your biological material for the subsequent cultivation of embryos

Choosing of Egg Donor

When the need for egg donation arises, we will assist you in locating an egg donor who aligns with your specific criteria. Our extensive database comprises egg donors with diverse phenotypes. Prior to inclusion in the egg donation protocol, each donor undergoes a thorough medical examination.

Hormonal Stimulation of an Egg Donor and Egg retrieval

After choosing your preferred egg donor, the next step involves a 14-day hormonal stimulation process.

Selecting the appropriate hormone dosage for each woman typically involves evaluating her ovarian reserve, which reflects the ovaries' capability to generate eggs. By assessing this reserve, the doctor gains insights into the woman's egg-producing capacity, enabling the prescription of an optimal hormone dosage.

Once the follicles have matured, they are retrieved from the ovaries. The embryologist takes care of each individual egg.

Fertilization Process

Following egg retrieval and once the eggs have reached optimal maturity, typically within two to six hours, a single sperm is introduced to each egg through a process known as ICSI. Subsequently, the embryos undergo culture for a period of two to five days before transfer. The success of embryo culture is crucial, and our embryologist monitors and determines the ideal duration for this process. The commonly chosen time for embryo transfer is at the blastocyst stage, occurring on day 5 or 6 after ICSI. At this point, embryos can undergo testing for chromosomal or specific genetic defects using preimplantation genetic diagnostics (PGD).

Pregnancy

Confirmation of pregnancy typically occurs on the 14th day following the embryo transfer. Subsequently, a series of scheduled and routine pregnancy follow-up appointments will take place with a healthcare provider, focusing on monitoring both the surrogate mother and the developing fetus. The surrogate will attend doctor's appointments every four weeks until reaching 28 weeks of pregnancy, followed by bi-weekly appointments until reaching 36 weeks, and weekly appointments thereafter. These regular check-ups ensure comprehensive care and oversight throughout the surrogate's pregnancy journey.

Fetal heartbeat

The presence of a fetal heartbeat can be identified as early as 5.5 to 6 weeks after the embryo transfer through a vaginal ultrasound. Occasionally, a fetal pole, marking the initial visible signs of embryo development, may be discerned during this stage. For a more accurate assessment of the heartbeat, it is generally recommended to conduct the examination between 6 and 7 weeks following the embryo transfer.

Pregnancy follow-up

Pregnancy follow-up involves scheduled appointments with an obstetrician-gynecologist or prenatal care specialist to oversee the surrogate mother's well-being and the development of the fetus. Regular clinic visits are structured with appointments every four weeks until the surrogate reaches 28 weeks of pregnancy, followed by bi-weekly appointments until she reaches 36 weeks, and weekly appointments thereafter.

Delivery and Childbirth

Throughout the delivery and childbirth process, a coordinator dedicated to the surrogate mother will be present, accompanied by a team of nurses and doctors.
